Gibson, 43, has been Crowley ISD superintendent for the past six years, where he has led a fast-growing district made up of 22 campuses, 2,000 employees and 15,000 students. Crowley is located south of Fort Worth. The SCUC board of trustees must wait 21 days from the day it announced Gibson as its lone finalist before they can officially hire him, which it expects to do during a meeting set for Jan. 4.
