The property has been owned by the Quincy Broadcasting Company since 1968 and houses the offices and some of the studios of WGEM AM-FM and TV. Quincy Broadcasting is owned by Quincy Newspapers, Inc. The building has not been known as the New Tremont for more than 70 years. Smith said the name change was appropriate since next year will be the 100th anniversary of the structure. The temperatures are not expected to rise to near normal before early next week, according to WGEM meteorologist Rich Cain. But first, Cain expects a snow storm will hit late Wednesday, with accumulations of about 3 inches. It should last all night, tapering off to occasional flurries, followed by a blast of cold air. Friday's temperatures will range from 6 above to 6 below. The good news is that the cold means there is little moisture in the air, so the snow will be light and fluffy.
