Police shoot suspected motorcycle thief

Shinto Silitongan said that Herman was shot during a raid on his rental house in Cikupa.“Herman tried to escape, ignoring warning shots from us, when we asked him to show the hiding place of the other gang members,” Shinto said on Tuesday.Shinto said the police had also arrested four other thieves in connection with the same case, identified as Mardi, 19, Rusdi, 19, Zul, 24 and Rangga, 25, earlier in the day. Three of the suspects were shot in their legs when they tried to escape arrest.“We have received 34 reports about motorcycle theft cases allegedly committed by the gang members in Kresek, Cikupa, Pasar Kemis, Curug and Pondok Aren districts,” he said.
