A Political Nor'easter
Arlen Specter (D-PA) declared 41 Republican senators "a national asset." After seeing a primary poll that suggested he might not be one of those 41 much longer, he switched parties to become the 60th vote for the Democrats (a "Sen. Franken" was inevitable at that point). Flash forward to last night. With a higher turnout than Gov. Deval Patrick's 2006 election, Massachusetts voters (yes, Massachusetts) sent a message in agreement with Specter's original comments.
