Record video on PC or Mac with external webcam

from the official website.

Attach a camera to the computer, ensure that it is properly connected. Verify that the system recognizes the camera by checking for any error messages or warning signs on the screen before proceeding. Once ready, click the Record Video button located on the File Import tab, which will open the video capture module in a separate window.

From the Video capture device dropdown menu, select the camera you want to use. Then choose the appropriate resolution and frame rate based on how much detail you want in your video (higher resolution = better quality but bigger file size), and whether there's a lot of movement or not (higher frame rate for motion, lower frame rate for still scenes).

From the Audio capture device dropdown menu, select the microphone you want to use.

Choose a path (any folder) where you want to save your recordings by clicking the icon (under the Save files to label). If you skip this step, then your video will be saved into the Movavi Library folder.

To initiate a recording session, click on the Start Capture button. While recording, you can capture still images from within the video by clicking on the camera icon .

Once recording has been completed, simply click on Back to Editing. The newly captured footage will then be incorporated into the Timeline and stored on your computer.
