To implement fade-in and fade-out transitions in Movavi Video Editor, follow these steps:

Step 1. First, duplicate a desired clip -- copy and paste it, and then drag it onto an additional track above the original clip.

Step 2. Next, configure the duplicated clip for overlapping with the base clip by selecting Overlap mode in the panel above the Timeline. Now you can apply your preferred effects or filters to the upper clip in the same manner as with a regular clip.

Step 3. To add fade-in and fade-out effects, go to the Clip Properties and select General settings. Here, adjust the Fade In and Fade Out sliders to specify the desired duration of the transition.
